Server relocation
Physical relocation of our server necessitates downtime
Our already carbon neutral server is being moved to a more energy efficient data centre between 22h30, Thursday, 8 July 2010 and 07h30, Friday, 9 July 2010 (South African Standard Time)
Due to the distance between the two data centres, Muremberg and Falkenstein, Germany, the downtime will be for a period of 9 hours. Please be assured that the server will be completely backed up before the move commences.
About the new Data Centre Park:
All investment decisions about hardware and network components were made with the issue of energy efficiency in mind. Furthermore, our own "Energy Efficiency Monitoring System" monitors the energy usage in all areas of the data center. Analyses enable energy usage to be optimised. The power supplier used, as with our current data center in Nuremberg, is green electricity provider, NaturEnergie AG, who generates electricity from water power. In addition, a solar energy plant spans the 1.300 square metre roof and feeds the energy produced into the power network.
